I’ve take the entire month of July to comb through all the footage and begin to assemble the first three episodes. Once a week, I have the pleasure of joining forces with Tim Donahue who knows more about Final Cut than I ever will. The show is really coming together. It sounds unbelievable (I refuse to have a web show that sounds like home video) and Jim’s camera work is just so damn sexy. I could not be more thankful for the performances we got and the quality of work that everyone brought to the table.
This is the hard part for me. Going into the process, I honestly admitted I know almost nothing about post and editing is not my skill set. But we are making progress and it’s thrilling to hear the whir of a harddrive with the entire show on it (and yes, we have multiple back ups now).
I’ve also been working a job up in Ojai, CA that is helping me slowly build up a second reserve for continued filming. Never underestimate the value of having an investor up front. This whole working “on spec” thing has some less than endearing quirks, but I feel confident we can use the first three episodes to drum up support for the remainder of the season. More soon…back to the assembly line.
